Holdings:
IES is the store house of Ethiopian wisdom and tradition that houses the best collection about Ethiopia anywhere. Its Library collections include: Books, Periodicals, M.A. and Ph.D theses, senior essays, magic-medical scrolls, manuscripts, archival items, slides, audiovisual materials, ephemera, maps and etc. The Museum houses the largest ethnographic collection, i.e. various artefacts, icons, crosses, weapons, ecclesiastical paintings, coins, musical instruments, ceramic and wooden materials, etc.

Access conditions:
Published and unpublished materials are available for references & spot reading services to the appropriate users of the Library. The Museum is accessable to any one who wants to visit by paying the entrance fee.

Access restrictions:
Book loan service is restricted; unpublished materials are not allowed to copy. The system is a closed stack system. Photographing of the museum objects is restricted (not allowed).
