      The Manhyia Archives which is administered by the Institute of African Studies, University of Ghana, is responsible for the preservation of records of the Kumasi Tranditional Council (Asantehene's Secretariat) and its predecessors. It also preserves the records of the Ashanti Confederacy/Asanteman Council. The holdings include Court records of the Kumasihene, Asantehene and the Kumasi Clan Chiefs' Native Courts. The dates range from 1926 to 1980.
