      The Swakopmund Museum is the largest privately run museum in Namibia.

      The Museum is controlled by the Society for Scientific Development, PO Box 361, Swakopmund, Tel. 264-64-402695. President: Mr. Michael Weber. <br>Displays and exhibits in the museum cover particularly the entire spectrum of the cultural, historical and natural heritage of Namibia. A number of large dioramas, three dimensional displays, bring various aspects of the country's natural history to life. Exhibits of special interest include an original oxwagon and the Adler Pharmacy which was the first pharmacy in the then German South West Africa. See also Sam Cohen Library.
