      The collection is mainly in the field of social sciences with books on comparative politics and government, international law, comparative law, international trade and finance, economic development of the underdeveloped and developing countries and military science, peace and disarmament. The Library also has books on African countries and organisations and as a depository library, it has publications of Organisation of African Unity (OAU), Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and United Nations. The collection consists of newspapers clippings from Nigerian and foreign newspapers, pamphlets etc. on wide range of domestic and foreign subjects and tapes derived from the library's Oral Documentation Project.
