      History: The Museum's archives collection has documents which relate to South African history, particularly Grahamstown and the Eastern Cape from 1812 to the present. Documents include Dr. D.L. Smit and parliamentary records, diaries of Dr. D.W. Atherstone, Dr. John Hewitt papers, a collection of maps, estate papers originating from E.P. Guardian Co., and settler diaries. <br> Anthropology holdings: Original notes of Schonland relating to Xhosa rituals. Large artifact collection of Eastern Cape material culture. Some items accessioned on an electronic catalogue and some digital photos.
