      The bulk of the collection consists of documents of the University of Stellenbosch (founded 1918) and its predecessor, Victoria College (1887-1918) and includes minutes of Senate and University Council. The oldest documents stem from 1865, a year before the Stellenbosch Gymnasium was founded. The minutes of the University and Victoria College have been microfilmed and is in the process of being digitized. An important part of the holdings consist of the 30 000 plus photographs of the Watson-Lockley Collection. These pictures can be accessed at: www.lib.sun.ac.za/archives.
